What are roles in Pristy?
Roles in Pristy
There are several roles in Pristy: the installer and the maintainer, the internal administrator, and the user.
- the installer is the person who installed Pristy,
- the maintainer is the person in charge of updates and resolving reported bugs,
- the internal administrator is the person in the structure who is responsible for the administration of Pristy,
- users are the people who use Pristy.
Certain actions cannot be performed by the user. The latter must therefore contact their administrator to perform them.
Role in an Espace
In Pristy, there are 3 roles: Manager, Editor and Reader.
Each of these roles is assigned in the member management page of an Espace. The roles define the user’s permissions to view, modify or move a folder or a document.
Manager
A manager has full power over their content: they can create, modify, move, share and organize or reorganize it as they wish.
The creator of an Espace is automatically its manager. If it is an Espace or a document, they are also the manager of all the content added to it.
Editor
An editor can view everything and create content, but cannot delete or change the location of content they did not create.
Reader
A reader can only view and download the content. They can also generate a link that they can share externally.
Role Inheritance
A role is automatically inherited.
When a Workspace is shared, the user inherits the same rights on the folders and documents that compose it.
All folders or documents added after sharing benefit from this inheritance.
Action limited by the assigned role
to the Workspace
A user who creates an item in a Workspace or its tree has creator rights on the items they create. A Creator has the rights of a Manager on the item they create.
